PRFest 2018 has launched!

PRFest 2018 has launched today with the theme “putting the human back into public relations”.

The world’s only festival dedicated to public relations has launched today with limited early bird tickets and a sneak peek at some of the sessions coming to Edinburgh in June.

The event, taking place Thursday 14 and Friday, 15 June, has also moved venues, with a new venue partner, the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation. It’s not only a more sustainable and environmentally friendly venue, it allows greater flexibility for break out spaces.

Today some of the programme has been revealed along with a more streamlined timetable to the day, taking feedback from last year into consideration.

Laura Sutherland, founder of PRFest and Chartered PR consultant, Aura PR, said: “I’m so pleased to bring PRFest back for a third year. Once again I had a lot of pitches to consider and the fit had to be right for the event and the attendees. I was rather delighted that most of the pitches came from women! #WomenPower indeed.

“The theme is more relevant than ever as our industry discusses data, AI and fake news, and we need to constantly remind ourselves that a) we’re all human and b) we can only really engage with our audiences if we’re talking and acting like real people. This covers everything from employees to teams, the public to people who have a completely different culture.

“The revised programming will allow for greater discussion and thinking as well as an element of attendees agreeing elements of the agenda on the day. I’m excited to release a limited number of early bird tickets (available here) until 2 March.

“The full programme and full price tickets will then go on sale from 3 March.

“Finally, a big thanks to PRFest main sponsor PRCA for its continued support and to the recently launched, The PR Cavalry, for being  a new sponsor this year.”

PRFest still gathers momentum with social media engagement and requests from as far as the US.

An informal dinner will be held on Thursday, 14 June and anyone attending PRFest is invited to sign up to attend. Last year there were 20 people and it was a lot of fun!
